Who is responsible for this app
TimeMark is developed and published by Ryan Liao (the “Developer,” “I,” “me”). If you have questions, contact support@contexttechs.com.
What TimeMark does
TimeMark lets you save video timestamps and optional notes while watching videos on supported sites (currently focused on YouTube in v1). Saved items help you return to key moments later.
Data TimeMark collects
TimeMark does not collect personal data.
TimeMark does not send your saved timestamps, notes, or browsing activity to any server operated by me. TimeMark does not include analytics, telemetry, advertising SDKs, or trackers in v1.
Data stored on your device
To provide its functionality, TimeMark stores certain information locally on your device, such as:
- Video identifiers/URLs needed to associate saved items with a video
- Saved timestamps (time offsets)
- Optional user-entered notes/descriptions
- Basic app preferences (if any)
Because storage is local, uninstalling the app/extension may remove your saved timestamps.
Permissions
Safari may display a permission such as “Webpage Contents and Browsing History” for websites where
the extension runs (e.g., youtube.com). This permission is required so TimeMark can:
- Detect the current video and playback time
- Display the TimeMark panel on supported pages
- Save and restore your timestamps for that video
TimeMark does not use this permission to collect, transmit, or sell browsing history.
Third-party services
TimeMark does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services in v1.
Cookies
TimeMark does not set cookies for tracking. Cookies you encounter on websites (such as YouTube) are controlled by those websites, not by TimeMark.
Children’s privacy
TimeMark is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this Privacy Policy changes, I will update this page and revise the effective date above. If future versions add cloud sync, accounts, or analytics, this policy will be updated to describe what data is collected and why.
